Social Media Advertising

Social media marketing can involve a range of specific tactics for garnering engagement, getting people to visit your website, or building brand trust, and one way to do that is through advertising on social media websites. Paid promotions of your business typically come in two forms on social media: ads or boosted posts. Facebook has more than 2.7 billion active users, YouTube has 2 billion, Instagram has 1 billion, and the list goes on. Social media is a powerful tool in modern marketing.

On Facebook, for example, more than two-thirds of users visit a Facebook business page at least once a week, and the average user clicks on 12 Facebook ads a month. If your company is not using Facebook ads or boosted posts, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to grow your business and find new customers.

Ads

On sites like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms, there are options for purchasing advertisements that will be shown to people who use the website. On Facebook, you can purchase ads that may be shown on the side of the Facebook web pages, in a small square space alongside other paid ads. Other times, ads may be shown in someone’s newsfeed as they scroll through posts and read the status of their friends. If targeted correctly, Facebook ads can offer a huge bump in potential customers.

Boosted Posts

Another option for paid promotion on Facebook are what’s called boosted posts. This is when your company chooses to pay for a post to be shown to more users. Often, this is a good option to build more brand awareness and trust. For example, you might post a link to a blog on your website with useful information for consumers in your industry, or you might post photos of a job well done. If someone is interested in the service or product you offer, and they see your post in their newsfeed, they will gain trust in your brand and likely choose your company when they make the decision to buy.
